It reinforces how important it is to have a right view of God when we pray -- to remember that the God we're praying to prefers mercy over judgment.
The video clip I put into my June 4 posting really fits well with your fresh motivation to pray for people.
KenKenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03652368175517004405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7656800927676328621.post-30700968041392622882008-05-29T20:06:00.000-05:002008-05-29T20:06:00.000-05:00Ken,I a putting this comment here because I don't ...Ken,

I a putting this comment here because I don't know where else to put it. Remember our conversation on God relenting. Well it kind of got under my skin so I went digging. What really piqued my interest was reading in IISAmuel where the angel of the Lord was plaguing Israel and God saw it heading for Jerusalem and He relented and said that's enough. So I looked up the Hebrew using esword and a some commentaries. The root word for relent is the word to sigh. One way to look at it seems to me that God's desire for justice/righteousness is finely balanced against His love for people and desire to extend mercy. To me its like a sigh of relief(can't think of another word) that someone appeals for God's mercy and He is eager and willing to extend it. His love desires to extend mercy and compassion rather than release His wrath. It has changed my view of God and motivated me to be appealing more for other people, who knows maybe He will relent and grant the gift of repentance!BadgerCanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01191327455044246310noreply@blogger.com
